Charlie's Smoky Mountain Birthday Adventure

Charlie's Smoky Mountain Birthday Adventure

Our tradition continues of birthday adventures for the kids. Each year, we focus birthdays on an activity or trip centered around what each kiddo loves. This year, Charlie wanted to head back to the Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, TN. He loves getting out in the mountains, walking the trails and exploring the rivers.

We found an adorable cabin with an amazing view. We packed up our necessities, our dogs and some food and headed on the 5-hour road trip from Kentucky to Gatlinburg, TN.
Once we were settled into our cabin and got some rest, we got started on our must-see list for the trip.

Check out this reel on @charlieandcrewmama for some of our views driving and in the Little Pigeon River.
We traveled down Newfound Gap Road, deeper into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park making our way to our destination. We love stopping along Newfound Gap Road, seeing all the pretty waterfalls and of course the stunning views of the mountains from different angles.

You could see and feel the air around us changing the higher we got. Trees were more and more coated with ice and the air was so crisp. We had made it to the entrance of the trail of Clingmans Dome, the highest point in Tennessee.
Head to this blog HERE for the details of our climb up Clingmans Dome.
To round out our Gatlinburg visit, we got some ice-cream and played at the cabin.
We are already planning our next Smoky Mountain adventure and cannot wait to be back exploring. Let us know in the comments below, have you been to the Smoky Mountains?
